UK Liquidators provides expert guidance and support to company directors across Britain and we have a particularly strong presence in the North West of England.

If your company is faced with an unfolding financial crisis then we are the right people to speak to and we have a number of office bases within easy reach of Bury, Greater Manchester. We have offices in Manchester, Preston, Stockport and Newton le Willows, as well as in Liverpool, Lancaster and Blackpool.

Each of our offices across the country is staffed by teams of highly dedicated and hugely experienced insolvency practitioners and liquidation experts. We work closely with directors across a wide range of industries and support them in dealing with difficult moments and financial crises of all kinds. Where there is scope to keep a company solvent and turn around its fortunes on that basis then we will always endeavour to support those efforts. Or if insolvency is unavoidable then we have all the requisite expertise to advise on any subsequent processes that become necessary.

Compulsory liquidation is the most common form of liquidation in the UK and it generally happens because a company has become unable to settle its debts and has become the subject of a winding up petition. This situation will result in an investigation by the Official Receiver, which usually is not desirable for company directors who can instead take matters into their own hands and enter their companies into a Creditor’s Voluntary Liquidation (CVL).

We at UK Liquidators can guide directors through the details of any liquidation process, including a Members’ Voluntary Liquidation (MVL), which is a tax efficient way to dispose of a solvent business.

If you’re based in or close to Bury in Greater Manchester and in need of liquidation or insolvency-related advice contact your nearest UK Liquidators office to arrange a consultation and we’ll be happy to help.

Our family-run construction firm had enjoyed a good run since the 1980s but with margins squeezed tighter than ever before and a saturated marketplace, we began to struggle. We also had a key supplier that went bust leaving us with major problems. We decided we needed to liquidate as cash flow was steadily decreasing and creditors were chasing. UKLiquidators handled the CVL and enabled us to write off our debts. They also referred me to a company that would investigate my claim for director redundancy and I was surprised to learn I was eligible for £14,500 which was paid to me within several weeks.

I am the MD of three separate companies within a subsidiary but one business was dragging the other two down. I needed to work out the most tax-efficient way of closing the struggling company but due to the complex nature of our company structure, our accountant was unable to advise. Thankfully, UKLiquidators took control of the situation and we were delighted with the outcome. They allowed me to pay for the liquidation upon completion as I was awaiting a significant director redundancy payment which both my wife and I were due as managing directors. If it wasn't for UKLiquidators, I wouldn't even have known about director redundancy and they pointed me in the right direction.
