UK Liquidators has offices throughout the UK at which we have teams of licensed insolvency practitioners, business rescue experts and highly experienced liquidators. That office network includes bases in Edinburgh and Glasgow, from which we can happily help anyone in or close to Falkirk who might need our guidance or support.

We offer FREE initial consultations on a face to face basis to any company director who would like to open up discussions about their businesses and the challenges they’re facing.

If there is scope for a business to be turned around then we can support the creation of a workable recovery plan but if insolvency is unavoidable then we have all the experience and expertise required.

There are various forms of liquidation and it is important for company directors to understand the distinctions. The most common form of the process is compulsory liquidation, which typically happens when a debtor company is named on a winding up petition and cannot settle its liabilities. This form of liquidation will bring about scrutiny from the Official Receiver and potentially certain difficulties for directors. It is usually preferable for directors of insolvent businesses to take matters into their own hands and use a Creditor’s Voluntary Liquidation (CVL) to wind up their company voluntarily.

A third form of liquidation worth knowing about is called a Members’ Voluntary Liquidation (MVL) and it is a cost-effective means of winding up a solvent operation.

At UK Liquidators we can offer comprehensive advice and support on any liquidation-related issues and we can certainly help out anyone based in or close to Falkirk or indeed anywhere in Scotland.

Our family-run construction firm had enjoyed a good run since the 1980s but with margins squeezed tighter than ever before and a saturated marketplace, we began to struggle. We also had a key supplier that went bust leaving us with major problems. We decided we needed to liquidate as cash flow was steadily decreasing and creditors were chasing. UKLiquidators handled the CVL and enabled us to write off our debts. They also referred me to a company that would investigate my claim for director redundancy and I was surprised to learn I was eligible for £14,500 which was paid to me within several weeks.

I am the MD of three separate companies within a subsidiary but one business was dragging the other two down. I needed to work out the most tax-efficient way of closing the struggling company but due to the complex nature of our company structure, our accountant was unable to advise. Thankfully, UKLiquidators took control of the situation and we were delighted with the outcome. They allowed me to pay for the liquidation upon completion as I was awaiting a significant director redundancy payment which both my wife and I were due as managing directors. If it wasn't for UKLiquidators, I wouldn't even have known about director redundancy and they pointed me in the right direction.
