There are no better people than UK Liquidators to call if you need advice about any issues around corporate insolvency, liquidation or business recovery. We are the foremost experts in this field currently operating across the UK.

We work closely with company directors from across Yorkshire and the North of England more generally. If you are based in or close to Harrogate then we are certainly well placed to help. We have offices nearby in both Leeds and York, as well as others in Huddersfield and Bradford.

You can arrange a FREE consultation with one of our experts in your area any time by calling us directly. We can have an initial chat at one of our offices or at a location that suits you. What’s most important is to fully assess your situation and establish what are potentially the best routes forward for yourself, as a director, and for your company.

It could be that liquidation is the best way forward but if there is scope for recovery then we can provide all the guidance and support you might need to make a success of that process.

There are several different forms of liquidation in the UK, with the most commonplace being compulsory liquidation. This happens when a debtor company is pursued with a winding up petition by a creditor organisation. Compulsory liquidation necessitates an investigation by the Official Receiver and is a situation generally best avoided from a company director’s perspective.

A better option is to enter a Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation (CVL), which allows directors to maintain more control and to enter their businesses into liquidation at a moment and in a manner of their choosing.

If you’re looking to liquidate a solvent operation then a Members’ Voluntary Liquidation (MVL) could be the best way to go.

At UK Liquidators we can advise you with complete clarity and confidence on all issues relating to insolvency, liquidation or business recovery. If you’re based in Harrogate or close by then contact your nearest office to arrange an initial consultation.

Our family-run construction firm had enjoyed a good run since the 1980s but with margins squeezed tighter than ever before and a saturated marketplace, we began to struggle. We also had a key supplier that went bust leaving us with major problems. We decided we needed to liquidate as cash flow was steadily decreasing and creditors were chasing. UKLiquidators handled the CVL and enabled us to write off our debts. They also referred me to a company that would investigate my claim for director redundancy and I was surprised to learn I was eligible for £14,500 which was paid to me within several weeks.

I am the MD of three separate companies within a subsidiary but one business was dragging the other two down. I needed to work out the most tax-efficient way of closing the struggling company but due to the complex nature of our company structure, our accountant was unable to advise. Thankfully, UKLiquidators took control of the situation and we were delighted with the outcome. They allowed me to pay for the liquidation upon completion as I was awaiting a significant director redundancy payment which both my wife and I were due as managing directors. If it wasn't for UKLiquidators, I wouldn't even have known about director redundancy and they pointed me in the right direction.
