If you’d like to find out more about the services we offer and the support we can provide then we’d be happy to arrange a FREE initial, face-to-face consultation with you. We help company directors from across Greater Manchester and the North West of England to understand their options and plan for the future with confidence.

If it proves possible for your business to be turned around and recover to a position of financial sustainability then we can provide whatever advice you might need. On the other hand if insolvency is inevitable and liquidation processes are unavoidable then our resident experts in Stockport can answer any questions you might have.

The most common reason why a company is wound up in the UK is because it has effectively been forced into liquidation by one or more of its creditors. These scenarios are referred to as compulsory liquidations and they will typically lead to investigations by the Official Receiver. An alternative to compulsory liquidation is voluntary liquidation and entry into a mechanism such as a Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation (CVL).

UK Liquidators has extensive expertise in all forms of liquidation, including those that relate to the process of winding up a solvent business such as a Members’ Voluntary Liquidation or an MVL, as they are known.

UK Liquidators also has further offices in the North West located in Blackpool, Chester, Liverpool, Newton Le Willows, Manchester and Preston which you may find more convenient.

Our family-run construction firm had enjoyed a good run since the 1980s but with margins squeezed tighter than ever before and a saturated marketplace, we began to struggle. We also had a key supplier that went bust leaving us with major problems. We decided we needed to liquidate as cash flow was steadily decreasing and creditors were chasing. UKLiquidators handled the CVL and enabled us to write off our debts. They also referred me to a company that would investigate my claim for director redundancy and I was surprised to learn I was eligible for £14,500 which was paid to me within several weeks.

I am the MD of three separate companies within a subsidiary but one business was dragging the other two down. I needed to work out the most tax-efficient way of closing the struggling company but due to the complex nature of our company structure, our accountant was unable to advise. Thankfully, UKLiquidators took control of the situation and we were delighted with the outcome. They allowed me to pay for the liquidation upon completion as I was awaiting a significant director redundancy payment which both my wife and I were due as managing directors. If it wasn't for UKLiquidators, I wouldn't even have known about director redundancy and they pointed me in the right direction.
