If you’d like to arrange a FREE initial consultation we’ll be happy to discuss your situation in depth and explain exactly what your options are with clarity and complete confidence. We can meet you at one of our offices or at a location that suits you.

We’re experts in liquidation and insolvency but if there is potential to rescue and recover your company then we can provide all the advice you might need and help you create a plan for the future.

There are several different forms of liquidation, with the most common being compulsory liquidation, which usually happens when a creditor pursues a debtor company through legal channels and secures a winding up petition. Entering liquidation in that way prompts an investigation by the Official Receiver and leaves directors with no choice but to accept their fate.

An alternative to compulsory liquidation is a Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation (CVL), which allows directors to maintain control of their circumstances and take their business into liquidation on a voluntary basis.

A third form of liquidation worth knowing about is Members’ Voluntary Liquidation (MVL), which is a tax-efficient way to liquidate a solvent operation.

To find out more about any of these issues or to discuss your situation you can call your nearest UK Liquidators office any time. As well as our offices in Maidstone, Brighton and Croydon, we have others elsewhere in the South East and in Greater and Central London.

Our family-run construction firm had enjoyed a good run since the 1980s but with margins squeezed tighter than ever before and a saturated marketplace, we began to struggle. We also had a key supplier that went bust leaving us with major problems. We decided we needed to liquidate as cash flow was steadily decreasing and creditors were chasing. UKLiquidators handled the CVL and enabled us to write off our debts. They also referred me to a company that would investigate my claim for director redundancy and I was surprised to learn I was eligible for £14,500 which was paid to me within several weeks.

I am the MD of three separate companies within a subsidiary but one business was dragging the other two down. I needed to work out the most tax-efficient way of closing the struggling company but due to the complex nature of our company structure, our accountant was unable to advise. Thankfully, UKLiquidators took control of the situation and we were delighted with the outcome. They also referred me to a specialist company for advice around director redundancy who confirmed that both myself and my co-director had eligible claims. If it wasn't for UKLiquidators, I wouldn't even have known about director redundancy and they pointed me in the right direction.
