The most commonplace form of the process is compulsory liquidation resulting from creditors securing a winding up order but there are others. A Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation or CVL, for example, is generally a preferable form of liquidation from a director’s perspective but it involves entering the process on a voluntary basis.

Other forms of liquidation are designed to function in instances whereby a solvent business is being wound up by its owners or directors. In these scenarios a Members’ Voluntary Liquidation could be the best option available and we can provide all the guidance you might need in this context.
